Our Brown Turkey fig tree is the most reliable fig for the UK climate, producing a heavy crop of purple-brown fruits with sweet red flesh in late August to mid-September. Just harvest and enjoy all it has to offer! Each plant is complete with a jar of sticky fig jam. Supplied as a 3 litre potted plant.

Figs will bring a Mediterranean flavour to your garden, combining beautiful foliage with a tasty and bountiful harvest. They're vigorous plants, so growth should be limited by restricting the roots to a large container (which will also encourage fruit formation). Alternatively, they can easily be trained onto a wall and pruned to fit the required space. This variety is strong-growing and quick to start fruiting and, once mature, will withstand the coldest winters.

If you want to grow a fig as a traditionally shaped tree on the patio, a 'standard' plant is ideal. Alternatively, a bush is easily trained against a wall and pruned to fit the required space. Supplied in a 3 litre pot.

How to make the most out of your free sticky fig jam and fig tree!

If you fancy more, the fig jam is delicious when paired with cheese and crackers, creating the tastiest cheese board for the evening dinner spread. 

When your figs have been harvested, why not make your own tangy fig chutney for all the family. Just add the additional ingredients and follow the steps below:

Ingredients

• 100g light brown soft sugar
• 120ml apple cider vinegar
• 300g chopped fresh figs
• 1 apple, peeled, cored and diced
• 1 onion, finely chopped
• 50g sultanas
• 1 tsp flaky sea salt

 Step 1: Place all your ingredients into a pan and bring to a gentle simmer for 1 hr, uncovered, stirring occasionally until it all gets sticky and with a jammy consistency. 

 Step 2: Spoon into a clean jar and you’re all done! Serve up and enjoy.
