Premium perennials are large plug tray plants, roughly the same size as garden ready plants like a potted plant without a pot. They will need to be acclimatised to the garden, and once all chance of frost has cleared can be planted out directly into the garden.
Pot up Lewisia plants into pots of free-draining compost, and grow Lewisia on in frost-free conditions until large enough to plant outside. When all risk of frost has passed and plants are well grown, acclimatise them to outdoor conditions over 7 to 10 days. Plant Lewisia outdoors in light, well drained, neutral to acid soil that has been enriched with well rotted manure or garden compost. Choose a position in full sun in beds, borders, containers and rock gardens. Lewisias also thrive in the crevices of retaining walls.
