Pepper Grafted Plant - F1 Britney

You won’t be able to resist these heavy crops of mouth-watering sweet peppers.

The F1 Britney is a robust vigorous sweet pepper. This sweet pepper plant will produce heavy crops of these irresistible medium-sized peppers. Quick to ripen the F1 Britney will transform from a deep green to luscious red, they really are a work of art. Growing sweet peppers is very rewarding as they are so dynamic. Why not simply add them to your favourite recipe or serve up stuffed peppers filled with ground beef, rice, and mozzarella. Harvesting from the summer through to the autumn you’ll have plenty of time to experiment.

What’s so good about grafted veg plants?

Grafting onto specific rootstocks, of course, creates bigger, better, more disease-resistant plants with increased yield. Consequently, we believe, the extra vigour which the plant obtains will provide even better protection to late Blight attack, and the plants will grow away from any infection even more rapidly.

Grow in the greenhouse or outdoors, little or no heating required. With excellent resistance to soil-borne pest and diseases - No more ring culture or grow bags you simply plant straight in the soil.

Caring for your F1 Britney

On arrival water if necessary with tepid water. Leave them on a shaded windowsill or in a greenhouse for a few hours to settle before further handling, ensuring a frost-free non-draughty situation. Stand the plant in a warm, light, airy place such as a windowsill or conservatory and allow to grow, ensuring that the compost is kept moist.

There is a possibility that your plant will include a grafting clip if it does, this is an integral part of the grafting process and that it should be left in place. As the plant grows it will naturally shrug off the clip.

On Arrival - Remove the plants from the box as soon as they arrive and check that the compost is adequately moist, watering if necessary with tepid water. Leave them on a shaded windowsill or in a greenhouse for a few hours to settle before further handling, ensuring a frost-free non-draughty situation. Potting On - These plants should be potted on as soon as possible, but they will keep quite well for 2–3 days if necessary, provided they are kept in a warm light place and are not allowed to dry out. Use 10cm (4") pots and a good quality moist proprietary compost and set the plants so that the top of the root ball is level with the compost surface. After potting, give a thorough watering, but thereafter take care to avoid overwet conditions, particularly as the young plants become re-established. Grow on in a light, humid position, and maintain an initial temperature of 16–18˚C (60–65˚F).

Ideal for beds and borders, patio pots and containers, greenhouses. Prefers full sun.
