These beautiful, dark-skinned potatoes have lovely yellow flesh with a dark purple internal (antioxidant) ring. Said to have been found in 1588 after a Spanish Armada shipwreck off the coast of Shetland, it's been grown there and only there ever since, or so the story goes! The long oval potatoes have a roast chestnut flavour to them and a floury texture which makes them great for roasties, chips or crisps! if you want to keep the colour or the internal ring, keep the skins on. Second Early variety. Harvest June-July.
