Rose 'Blanc Double De Coubert' is a stunning and resilient white rugosa rose that captivates with its lush, crinkled double blooms and vibrant orange hips. This variety is particularly valued for its ability to flourish in challenging environments, making it an excellent choice for coastal gardens, informal hedges, or wildlife-friendly landscapes. Its vigorous growth habit and bushy, suckering nature create a robust shrub that can stand out in any garden setting, providing both beauty and functionality.

The flowers of this rose are pure white and emit a delightful fragrance, enhancing the sensory experience of any garden. They bloom repeatedly from early summer through early autumn, ensuring a long-lasting display of color and scent. The dark green, leathery foliage is not only attractive but also offers excellent disease resistance, making it a low-maintenance option for gardeners. As summer transitions into fall, the plant produces striking orange-red hips that persist into winter, adding visual interest and providing food for local wildlife.

Adaptable and hardy, the 'Blanc Double De Coubert' tolerates poor soil, salt spray, and exposed conditions, making it particularly suited for coastal locations. It can be used effectively in hedging, mixed borders, or as a standalone specimen, where its height of approximately 150 cm (59 in) and spread of around 120 cm (47 in) can be fully appreciated. This rose is also a magnet for pollinators like bees and butterflies, while its hips attract birds, contributing to a vibrant ecosystem. With minimal pruning required in late winter to maintain its shape, this rose is an ideal choice for those seeking beauty with ease of care, and it is fully hardy in the UK climate.

Plant roses at the earliest opportunity following delivery. To avoid the risk from the build-up of harmful soil organisms and disease, choose an open position in full sun that has not been planted with roses in recent years. Roses enjoy a rich, fertile, well drained soil. Dig in plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost to the soil prior to planting roses and add a small handful of granular fertiliser to the planting hole.

Orders are despatched promptly by post or parcel carrier. Seasonal items such as plants are sent separately with the estimated delivery times stated against each variety both in our catalogue and on our website.

Small items are sent by Royal Mail and larger items by courier. When ordering large items please provide your phone number so that the courier can contact you if necessary.

Please note that when several items are ordered they may not all be delivered at the same time.

Packet seed only will incur a carriage charge of £2.99.

All other products incur a carriage charge of £6.99.

If your order comprises of a combination of carriage charges then a combined carriage charge of £7.99 will be applied.

Live Plants

Dobies strives to ensure that all its plants are delivered to you in the perfect condition for planting. While the majority of our nursery plants cope well with slight delays in intransit, sadly, the time it takes to deliver to certain locations in the UK means that we can't guarantee this for some of our smaller plug products and tender bedding and vegetable lines, which do not respond well to the extra journey time. So regretfully while we offer the majority of our live plant offering nationwide, we are unable to ship plugs, begging plants and tender vegetable plants to the following areas: HS, IV41-IV49, IV51, IV55-56, KW15-KW17, PA34, PA41-48, PA60-PA78, PA80, PH40-PH44, TR21-TR24, ZE1-ZE3.

Non Standard Deliveries

Unfortunately like many companies in our industry we are currently only able to supply orders to UK based customers, excluding those in Northern Ireland. We are committed to finding a way that we can resume or normal services again as soon as possible. Please accept our apologies for any inconvience caused.

Prices include VAT where applicable.

We reserve the right to contact you and advise an additional charge where necessary and are happy to quote for carriage of specific products to more remote areas. Some items may not be available to all areas.

We reserve the right to revise any carriage charges in the event of carrier price increase or other unforeseen circumstances. We will always advise of the carriage charge before payment is taken.

Large Non-standard items may incur a higher, lorry delivery charge. Charges will be calculated at checkout, but an example of the lorry charges are listed below.

All Dobies products should reach you in perfect condition, just as they left us. If you are dissatisfied in any way with their condition on arrival, please let us know within 14 days. We are only liable for the cost of the goods as quoted on the website plus the cost of delivery if the goods are faulty.
