The oval black-blue honeyberries of Lonicera caerulea var. kamtschatica begin to ripen in early June, in the first or second year after planting. This exceptionally hardy shrub is long lived and easy to grow, producing more delicious berries year upon year. Height and spread: 1.8m (6'). Spread: 1.5m (5')

Pot up Lonicera caerulea var. kamtschatica plants and grow them on in cool frost free conditions until large enough to plant outside in their final positions. When plants are well grown, gradually acclimatise them to outdoor conditions before transplanting them in borders outdoors. Grow honeyberry plants in any moist well drained soil in full sun. Honeyberries are self fertile but planting them in close proximity to one another will improve pollination and increase your crop of tasty fruits.
