Monstera adansonii bears the same glossy, heart-shaped deep green leaves as the common Swiss Cheese Plant, but instead of slits running from the margins, they are perforated with neat holes, making it much more deserving of its nickname. This vining plant will drape beautifully from a container on a shelf, or from a hanging basket. Alternatively, for a vertical accent, it can be trained up a moss pole. Like other Monsteras, it naturally grows within the shade canopy of tropical rainforests and so will cope with lower lighting levels than many other houseplants. Height and spread: 1m (39in).
