This collection features a delightful assortment of raspberry varieties, carefully chosen for their adaptability to UK gardens and their impressive fruiting capabilities. Gardeners can expect a mix of both summer- and autumn-fruiting types, which adds an element of surprise and excitement to the harvest season. The specific cultivars included in this selection remain a mystery until the fruits begin to ripen, making each gardening experience unique and enjoyable.

Depending on the specific varieties included, the canes may be either thorny or thornless, catering to different preferences and gardening styles. Once established, these raspberry plants are known for their reliability and productivity, typically yielding fruit within just one to two years. The summer-fruiting varieties produce berries on last year’s canes, while the autumn-fruiting types generate their harvest from new growth, allowing for a staggered and extended fruiting period throughout the year.

Raspberries thrive best in fertile, well-drained soil and prefer locations that receive full sun or partial shade. To ensure optimal growth, it is advisable to apply mulch annually and prune the plants according to their specific fruiting type once identified. These versatile plants are perfect for borders, fruit cages, or even containers for those with limited space. Hardy and resilient, they can withstand the cold winters typical of the UK, making them a reliable choice for any gardener looking to enjoy sweet, juicy raspberries.

To provide you with such a great price, we are unable to accept orders for specific varieties. However, rest assured that whatever we send your way, you will be pleased with your plants. Height: 200 cm (79 in) Spread: 75 cm (30 in)

Grow raspberry plants in a sunny position in any well drained soil. Prior to planting, incorporate plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost into the soil. The stems of this compact variety will require some support such as a framework of wires stretched horizontally between two posts. When growing raspberries in containers, support their tall stems on a wigwam of canes.

Plant raspberry canes against their supports, allowing a distance of 60cm (24") between plants. Water well.

Instead of cutting all the fruited canes to ground level like other Primocane varieties, use a double-cropping pruning regime. Select the strongest 6-8 canes, reducing them to about 1m in height.  These canes will crop in June the following year and should be cut down to the ground after they have been harvested. A later autumn crop will be produced on the current year’s canes.

Water raspberries well for the first year until plants are fully established. Loosely tie the stems in to their support wires as they grow. When berries begin to develop, place a net over the plants to protect the crop from birds. Apply a mulch of well rotted manure or garden compost to the base of the canes in spring. This will help to retain moisture throughout the summer.

Live Plants

Dobies strives to ensure that all its plants are delivered to you in the perfect condition for planting. While the majority of our nursery plants cope well with slight delays in intransit, sadly, the time it takes to deliver to certain locations in the UK means that we can't guarantee this for some of our smaller plug products and tender bedding and vegetable lines, which do not respond well to the extra journey time. So regretfully while we offer the majority of our live plant offering nationwide, we are unable to ship plugs, begging plants and tender vegetable plants to the following areas: HS, IV41-IV49, IV51, IV55-56, KW15-KW17, PA34, PA41-48, PA60-PA78, PA80, PH40-PH44, TR21-TR24, ZE1-ZE3.

Non Standard Deliveries

Unfortunately like many companies in our industry we are currently only able to supply orders to UK based customers, excluding those in Northern Ireland. We are committed to finding a way that we can resume or normal services again as soon as possible. Please accept our apologies for any inconvience caused.

Prices include VAT where applicable.

We reserve the right to contact you and advise an additional charge where necessary and are happy to quote for carriage of specific products to more remote areas. Some items may not be available to all areas.

We reserve the right to revise any carriage charges in the event of carrier price increase or other unforeseen circumstances. We will always advise of the carriage charge before payment is taken.

All Dobies products should reach you in perfect condition, just as they left us. If you are dissatisfied in any way with their condition on arrival, please let us know within 14 days. We are only liable for the cost of the goods as quoted on the website plus the cost of delivery if the goods are faulty.

Unlike many companies, we publish all of our reviews - good or bad - to give you, the customer, total transparency and peace of mind.
