You won’t need a big garden for this fabulous little Cherry tree. This naturally compact variety is grafted onto dwarf rootstock, making a neat patio tree that can be grown in a large container. Cherry ‘Hartland’ produces a pretty spring display of white flowers which attract clouds of pollinating insects. The sweet, dark red cherries that follow are delicious picked straight from the tree from late July to August. This self-fertile variety makes a superb dessert cherry for a small, sunny patio. If grown in a large patio container, its growth will be restricted and it remain just 1.5m (59") tall.

- Gisella 5 - Dwarf reaching a mature height of up to 2m (6',6")
- Gisella 6 - Semi vigorous reaching a mature height of up to 4m (13')
- Colt - Semi vigorous reaching a mature height of 5m (16')
This variety is self-fertile and does not require a pollination partner.

Plant cherry trees in any well drained soil in a sheltered, sunny position. Prior to planting, incorporate plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost into the planting hole and drive the stake into the ground to support the tree. Staking after planting may result in damage to the root ball. Plant fruit trees at their original soil level and firm them into the ground. Fasten the tree to the stake using a tree tie, and water well.
When growing cherries on the patio, use a large 60cm (24") diameter container filled with a soil based compost such as John Innes No 3.
