Alliums are highly valued by gardeners for their sturdy, upright growth, which adds both structure and vibrant color to early summer gardens. This exceptional collection features five unique species that thrive in gravel gardens and rockeries. When planted in clusters, they create a stunning display that seamlessly connects the blooming of spring bulbs with the arrival of summer perennials. Like all Alliums, these varieties are easy to cultivate and require minimal maintenance once they are established.

Allium Collection comprises:

Allium sphaerocephalon - An understated allium with unusual oval shaped, purple green flower heads, that associates beautifully with swaying grasses. Height: 60cm (24"). Spread: 8cm (3").
Allium moly - (51 Bulbs) Dense clusters of star-shaped, golden yellow flowers from late spring. Height: 15cm (6"). Spread: 5cm (2").
Allium 'Graceful Beauty' - Effortlessly tasteful - its large, starry blooms forming spherical flower heads in spring. Each gleaming white flower is blushed with palest pink providing a lovely contrast with its violet stamens. Height: 30cm (12"). Spread: 10cm (4").
Allium 'Purple Sensation' - Globes of starry purple flowers that measure up to 8cm (3") across. Height: 90cm (36"). Spread: 10cm (4").
Allium Caeruleum - Bright blue globes of starry flowers are carried on stiff upright stems in early summer. Punctuating sunny borders with architecture and a bright splash of colour, Allium caeruleum is easy to grow and makes a great cut flower too! Height: 60cm (24"). Spread: 8cm (3").

Alliums are prized by gardeners for their stiff, upright habit that lends structure and colour to early summer borders. This superb collection brings together 5 unusual species which are particularly well suited to gravel gardens and rockeries. When planted in dense groups they create an eye-catching display that bridges the gap between spring bulbs and summer perennials. Alliums thrive in light sandy, well drained soil in full sun. Avoid planting in cold wet soils as the bulbs are prone to rot in these conditions. Plant allium bulbs at a depth of 10cm (4") and a distance of 10cm (4") apart. A slow release fertilizer can be added to poor soils at the time of planting to improve fertility. When growing alliums, plant them where the leaves of other plants will cover the base of their stems. This will hide the old foliage which dies back before flowering begins.

Orders are despatched promptly by post or parcel carrier. Seasonal items such as plants are sent separately with the estimated delivery times stated against each variety both in our catalogue and on our website.

Small items are sent by Royal Mail and larger items by courier. When ordering large items please provide your phone number so that the courier can contact you if necessary.

Please note that when several items are ordered they may not all be delivered at the same time.

Packet seed only will incur a carriage charge of £2.99.

All other products incur a carriage charge of £6.99.

If your order comprises of a combination of carriage charges then a combined carriage charge of £7.99 will be applied.

Live Plants

Dobies strives to ensure that all its plants are delivered to you in the perfect condition for planting. While the majority of our nursery plants cope well with slight delays in intransit, sadly, the time it takes to deliver to certain locations in the UK means that we can't guarantee this for some of our smaller plug products and tender bedding and vegetable lines, which do not respond well to the extra journey time. So regretfully while we offer the majority of our live plant offering nationwide, we are unable to ship plugs, begging plants and tender vegetable plants to the following areas: HS, IV41-IV49, IV51, IV55-56, KW15-KW17, PA34, PA41-48, PA60-PA78, PA80, PH40-PH44, TR21-TR24, ZE1-ZE3.

Non Standard Deliveries

Unfortunately like many companies in our industry we are currently only able to supply orders to UK based customers, excluding those in Northern Ireland. We are committed to finding a way that we can resume or normal services again as soon as possible. Please accept our apologies for any inconvience caused.

Prices include VAT where applicable.

We reserve the right to contact you and advise an additional charge where necessary and are happy to quote for carriage of specific products to more remote areas. Some items may not be available to all areas.

We reserve the right to revise any carriage charges in the event of carrier price increase or other unforeseen circumstances. We will always advise of the carriage charge before payment is taken.

Large Non-standard items may incur a higher, lorry delivery charge. Charges will be calculated at checkout, but an example of the lorry charges are listed below.

All Dobies products should reach you in perfect condition, just as they left us. If you are dissatisfied in any way with their condition on arrival, please let us know within 14 days. We are only liable for the cost of the goods as quoted on the website plus the cost of delivery if the goods are faulty.
