If you want to add a touch of legend and mysticism to your garden, look no further than our legendary Delphinium Pacific Giants Legend Collection. Containing some of our most powerful varieties named after the legends of the arthurian round table, you can add a touch of magic to summer borders with these striking and stately blooms. Keep deadheading the flower spikes to encourage the production of flowering side shoots and you'll get enough blooms to spare some for vase arrangements. The dried petals can also be used in confetti.

The dreamy looks of these delphiniums perfectly capture that romantic ‘cottage garden’ feel. Grow them at the back or middle of a border where they will command attention over other perennials during June and July, producing a display that will be the envy of all your neighbours! Delphinium ‘Pacific Giants’, were developed in the 1950’s and 60’s. Their majestic flower spikes rise above the palmate foliage in June and July, bringing drama and structure to borders. These statuesque plants are easy to grow, enjoying a sheltered, sunny spot. Perfect for group planting at the back of the border where they’ll help to screen a fence or wall as well as padding out the planting scheme with colour interest at a height. While tall, they’re narrow so don’t take up much space, making them suitable for small spaces as well as big borders. The blooms also make fabulous cut flowers for show-stopping bouquets. Height: 150cm (60”). Spread: 75cm (30”).

Delphinium ‘Pacific Giants Legend Collection’ contains the following varieties:

  • King Arthur - The stately flowering stems of Delphinium 'King Arthur' are bound to make a big impact on any planting scheme. Growing to an impressive height, the strong, upright stems are each topped with a densely-packed spire of vivid deep blue semi-double flowers for that big colour hit. A frosty white centre in each flower makes an eye-catching detail to admire close up.
  • Galahad - Named after Sir Galahad, the Arthurian Knight who drew the sword from the stone, this magnificent delphinium will certainly add chivalry and romance to your garden! Soaring spires of large, semi-double, white blooms rise above mounds of rich green foliage.
  • Astolat - Named after the ‘lily maid of Astolat’ who, according to Arthurian legend, died of unrequited love, you are sure to fall head over heels for the dreamy pink spires of this romantic delphinium.
  • Blue Bird - makes an impressive feature, adding height and stature to the back of sunny perennial borders. Tall spires of clear blue flowers, each with a contrasting white centre, literally tower above clumps of deeply cut foliage.

Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.

No cottage garden border is complete without the towering blooms of this hardy perennial! Delphinium ‘Pacific Hybrids’, sometimes referred to as ‘Pacific Giants’, were developed in the 1950’s and 60’s. Their majestic flower spikes rise above the palmate foliage in June and July, bringing drama and structure to borders. Choose a sunny position that is sheltered from strong winds, on moist, well drained soil. Protect young delphiniums from slugs and snails.

Live Plants

Dobies strives to ensure that all its plants are delivered to you in the perfect condition for planting. While the majority of our nursery plants cope well with slight delays in intransit, sadly, the time it takes to deliver to certain locations in the UK means that we can't guarantee this for some of our smaller plug products and tender bedding and vegetable lines, which do not respond well to the extra journey time. So regretfully while we offer the majority of our live plant offering nationwide, we are unable to ship plugs, begging plants and tender vegetable plants to the following areas: HS, IV41-IV49, IV51, IV55-56, KW15-KW17, PA34, PA41-48, PA60-PA78, PA80, PH40-PH44, TR21-TR24, ZE1-ZE3.

Non Standard Deliveries

Unfortunately like many companies in our industry we are currently only able to supply orders to UK based customers, excluding those in Northern Ireland. We are committed to finding a way that we can resume or normal services again as soon as possible. Please accept our apologies for any inconvience caused.

Prices include VAT where applicable.

We reserve the right to contact you and advise an additional charge where necessary and are happy to quote for carriage of specific products to more remote areas. Some items may not be available to all areas.

We reserve the right to revise any carriage charges in the event of carrier price increase or other unforeseen circumstances. We will always advise of the carriage charge before payment is taken.

All Dobies products should reach you in perfect condition, just as they left us. If you are dissatisfied in any way with their condition on arrival, please let us know within 14 days. We are only liable for the cost of the goods as quoted on the website plus the cost of delivery if the goods are faulty.

Unlike many companies, we publish all of our reviews - good or bad - to give you, the customer, total transparency and peace of mind.
