Clematis Mochi transforms the familiar into something truly extraordinary, with blooms that look as though they’ve been delicately brushed or spray-painted by hand. Soft lavender petals are overlaid with deeper purple-red stippling and highlighted with a green blush. Opening first as elegant single flowers, they gradually develop through anemone, semi-double and finally fully double blooms, creating a constantly evolving display that keeps the plant looking fresh and full of interest. This remarkable progression, paired with an exceptional flowering period of over 120 days, ensures a long season of colour and visual appeal.

Unlike traditional Clematis with unchanging flower forms, Clematis Mochi offers both shifting structure and artistic colouring, bringing a new level of depth and character to the garden. Early single blooms are easily accessible to pollinators, adding valuable wildlife interest, while the later, fuller flowers provide richness and depth.

Its naturally compact, well-behaved habit makes it ideal for modern gardens, thriving in containers, small borders, and vertical planting schemes. Easy to grow and requiring minimal upkeep, it avoids the challenges often associated with larger, more vigorous varieties making it easier to manage on patios and in urban gardens. With excellent reliability, repeat flowering, and strong garden performance, Clematis Mochi delivers a long-lasting, distinctive display that stands apart from the ordinary. Pruning group: 3. An extraordinary variety, Clematis 'Mochi' boasts large lilac blooms with darker stippling and a green blush, each single plant offering an array of bloom shapes, from single, anemone, semi-double and fully double. Pot up clematis plants and grow them on until large enough to plant in their final positions. When planting clematis, choose a position in sun or semi-shade and plant the climber deeply in moist, fertile, well drained soil. Position the top of the rootball at a depth of 7.5cm (3") below soil level, to encourage new shoots to form from the base of the plant. Clematis dislike soils that are particularly wet or dry. Such soils can be improved by the addition of plenty of well rotted manure or garden compost. When growing clematis in patio containers use a soil based compost such as John Innes No.3. Train clematis plants onto a suitable support such as trellis, wires or a freestanding climbing frame.

Small items are sent by Royal Mail and larger items by courier. When ordering large items please provide your phone number so that the courier can contact you if necessary.

Live Plants

Dobies strives to ensure that all its plants are delivered to you in the perfect condition for planting. While the majority of our nursery plants cope well with slight delays in intransit, sadly, the time it takes to deliver to certain locations in the UK means that we can't guarantee this for some of our smaller plug products and tender bedding and vegetable lines, which do not respond well to the extra journey time. So regretfully while we offer the majority of our live plant offering nationwide, we are unable to ship plugs, begging plants and tender vegetable plants to the following areas: HS, IV41-IV49, IV51, IV55-56, KW15-KW17, PA34, PA41-48, PA60-PA78, PA80, PH40-PH44, TR21-TR24, ZE1-ZE3.

Non Standard Deliveries

Unfortunately like many companies in our industry we are currently only able to supply orders to UK based customers, excluding those in Northern Ireland. We are committed to finding a way that we can resume or normal services again as soon as possible. Please accept our apologies for any inconvience caused.

We reserve the right to contact you and advise an additional charge where necessary and are happy to quote for carriage of specific products to more remote areas. Some items may not be available to all areas.

We reserve the right to revise any carriage charges in the event of carrier price increase or other unforeseen circumstances. We will always advise of the carriage charge before payment is taken.

All Dobies products should reach you in perfect condition, just as they left us. If you are dissatisfied in any way with their condition on arrival, please let us know within 14 days. We are only liable for the cost of the goods as quoted on the website plus the cost of delivery if the goods are faulty.
