As autumn approaches the leaves transform to brilliant shades of red and orange, accompanied by a glossy scarlet berries which are loved by birds. Berberis thunbergii 'Aurea' is a slow-growing, deciduous shrub with a rounded, spreading habit. A useful plant for brightening up 'lack-lustre' borders and encouraging wildlife to the garden.
