	Autumn Planting Garlic Garlic has become an essential part of many kitchen gardens as out food tastes have changed and its health benefits have become more widely known - it lowers blood pressure, fat and cholesterol levels and combats bacterial, fungal and viral infections. It's easy to grow garlic - the sections (cloves) of each bulb should be separated and planted just below the soil surface from early November to late December. Space rows 15-20cm apart, and allow 10cm between cloves. In addition to traditional varieties we sell Hardneck garlics such as Sofia and Blanak. Hardneck varieties are closest to wild garlic and have the added bonus of garlic scapes - their stalks can be used in cooking dishes where a mild garlic taste is appreciated.
