Broad Bean Seeds

Harvest broad beans when seed shape is just visible through the pod. For early crops sow recommended varieties late October-November or in January, in a warm sheltered position. Sowings for summer cropping should be made February-May. Sow in double rows 23cm (9") apart in the row and between rows and 5cm (2") deep.

Toby's Tip

Pinch out plant tops when in full flower for better-filled pods and to avoid infestation with black fly.
