Originally grown in London, where Waterloo station stands today. This old (1793) variety of onion produces more of a pear-shaped, medium sized, brown onion. The flavour is ‘robust’ and fantastic to cook with. Mentioned in the RHS journal over 200 years ago, for its fantastic storing qualities. This old heritage variety will still store for longer than most modern onions, reported to be up to 9 months if stored correctly. Thats months of delicious, home grown history.
