Sow 1.8cm (¾") deep on a prepared seed bed from late April-July. Set out the plants in their final positions, 60cm (2') apart each way July-early August. Harvest mid October-March. It will live through very bad winter conditions.
Remove any discoloured foliage and apply a fertiliser in spring to boost new shoots. Can also use the seed as a healthy 'sprouting seed'.
