Comfrey can be started off in small pots of good quality compost in a cold greenhouse. When large enough to handle, plant out after the last frost. Alternatively, seeds can be directly sown from March in moist but free draining soil. When large enough to handle, move to the final growing site.

Ideal for beds and borders. Prefers full sun. Ideal to grow around your compost bin to disguise it. PLEASE NOTE: Always wear gloves when harvesting comfrey as the leaves can irritate skin in the same way as runner beans.
