Enjoy apricots from July to September!
Collection comprises 1 tree each of: Tomcot (picture 1) - A
splendid introduction to our range which is much earlier to crop. Tomcot
gives a very heavy crop of large crimson flushed fruits which are ripe
for picking from around the middle of July. This great variety has
cropped very well in our own gardens over the past few summers;
Jennycot (picture 2) - A perfect partner to Tomcot as it ripens
about a month later in mid August. The apricots are very large sweet
juicy and aromatic. Eat it fresh from the tree whilst still warm or turn
into wonderful apricot jam; Larquen (picture 3) - An outstanding
self-fertile variety from New Zealand which is now giving bumper crops in
UK orchards. The trees yield huge crops of large, Victoria plum-sized
fruit, which are sweet and juicy (and far superior to shop bought
apricots!). Pick approximately three weeks after Jennycot, in early
September.
All grown on Torinel rootstock - the latest for apricots -
which gives a very manageable tree that fruits heavily.
