Lettuce Cancan Seeds

Unique leaves!
A tasty, vigorous, mildew resistant variety with unique endive-like leaves but no bitter taste. Sow outdoors until July, or sow later to over winter under glass. Loose leaf 'picking' lettuce.

CULTURE: Sow outdoors from January-July at fortnightly intervals to ensure a regular supply. Sow in rows 30cm (1') apart and 1.25cm (½") deep and thin the plants to 23-30cm (9-12") apart. For over-wintered lettuce sow seed outdoors late August-early September. For growing in a greenhouse during winter choose the varieties 'Rosetta' or 'Cancan'. Row 15m (50') except where stated.
HINTS: Beautifully curled, fringed foliage with tasty leaves that can be pulled for use as required without lifting the whole plant. Slow to run to seed. HEALTH BENEFITS: Source of beta-carotene/vitamin A (For growth, healthy hair, skin, bones, teeth and eyes as well as resistance to respiratory infections) - especially darker green leaves. Reputed to have a sedative effect.
