Excellent roots can be grown on fertile ground which has been well dug during winter. Sow seeds March-April in drills drawn 30-38cm (12-15") apart. Thin seedlings to 15-20cm (6-8") apart. Lift the roots as required. Exposure to frost improves the flavour.

HEALTH BENEFITS: Contains vitamin C (Anti-ageing, wound healing, decreasing blood cholesterol and prevention of infections. Assists the body in absorbing iron) and Potassium (Regulates heart rhythm, nerve impulses and muscle function) as well as being a good source of energy boosting starchy carbohydrates. COOKING HINT: Tasty when roasted with meat dishes, or boil and mash with butter and a sprinkle of nutmeg.
