Pepper Seeds - Almapaprika

Capsicum

“Pepper species are native to the Americans and have been cultivated for thousands of years. The Spanish and Portuguese brought them back to Europe and to their colonies in Africa and Asia. From there peppers continued to spread and develop. ‘Almapaprika’ is a fantastic pepper. Also known as the Hungarian Apple due to its shape. It starts of creamy white and gradually changes to fire engine red. It has a very slight heat to it and was the original pepper used to make paprika”

Using a good quality, moist seed compost, sow your seeds in a propagator and cover with 6mm (¼") compost. Place on a windowsill or in a greenhouse at approximately 21-24°C (70-75°F) to germinate, usually 7-14 days. Transfer seedlings into 7.5cm (3") pots and grow on. Once they are 15cm (6") tall, transfer to 25cm (10") pots of John Innes No.3 and keep on a warm, sunny windowsill or greenhouse (once warm enough). Pollinate with a small paintbrush by stroking all the flowers, if no insects present. This will ensure fruit.

Ideal for beds and borders, patio pots and containers.
