Crops 20–26 weeks from sowing. For the earliest summer crops, sow varieties marked * in September and overwinter in a cold frame, planting outdoors in spring. Alternatively for slightly later maturity sow under glass at 10–15°C (50–60°F) February-March. Harden off plants before planting outdoors. For maincrops sow direct outdoors, 1.8cm (¾”) deep, in a prepared seed bed March-May.

HEALTH BENEFITS: Ideal for slimmers as low in calories. Good vitamin C content. TOBY'S TIP: Cauliflowers are not the easiest vegetable to grow, so success means you have arrived as a gardener! Try raising expensive hybrids in ‘plug packs’ and planting out. I am a great believer in bending a leaf over the developing head in summer to prevent scorch from the sun and in winter to protect against frost damage.
