Brussels Sprout Seeds - Jade Cross F1

This extra early maturing Brussels sprout produces smaller plants with bumper crops of bigger sprouts. Ideal to grow in smaller spaces or more exposed sites as the smaller stature means the plants won’t be as affected by ‘wind-rock’, which can affect most other varieties. Each large sprout ripens from the bottom of the plant upwards, allowing you to pick enough for a meal, while leaving the rest to mature and be used later, rather than having to harvest the entire stalk in one go. Having an excellent flavour, the sprouts can be steamed, boiled or baked for an intense and delicious flavour. Improved variety, compact habit. Harvest August-December.

Crops 30-36 weeks from sowing. Tasty autumn/winter/spring vegetable. For maincrops, sow on a finely raked ’seed bed’ outdoors early March-late April. For early crops, sow in frames or under cloches during February. Transplant to final growing positions at 60–90cm (2–3') apart in well-firmed soil May-early June.

Ideal for beds and borders. HEALTH BENEFITS:  Good source of vitamin C. CULINARY TIPS:  For fresh use or freezing. Try stir frying as an alternative to steaming/boiling.
