Gypsophila Seeds - Covent Garden Mixed

Baby's Breath

“A far cry from the gypsophila you find stuffed with roses in the supermarket. ‘Covent Garden Mixed’ produces a froth of larger than usual pure white and pastel pink single flowers. The delicate foliage and blooms are incredibly easy to grow. A hardy annual that looks as good in containers as it does in the open ground. ‘covent garden mixed’ is essential in any wedding arrangement, blending with sweet peas (especially ‘Jet Set Mixed’) and spilling masses of ethereal grace to a bridal bouquet. Extremely winter hardy, down to -15ºC.” Height 45cm (18”).

Rob's Spillers - Spillers can either fall away from the main arrangement down the sides, or they can spike up and out of the arrangement. They help create depth to the other flowers and help it feel more natural.

Sow from late March-June directly into weed free, warm, moist soil 3mm (1/8") deep. Mix in grit if you have clay soil. Can also be sown in September in small pots in a cold greenhouse, for earlier flowers the following year. Thin resulting seedlings by degrees to a final spacing of 30cm (12") or in containers.

Ideal for beds and borders, patio pots and containers.
