A favourite of mine in the early spring. It will give you a beautiful mix of solid and bi-coloured flowers with that unique flower shape. Aquilegia will produce sprays of flowers for a good couple of months on upright stems that are just begging to be cut and used in your home. All of the plants you get from this mix are perennial, coming back again and again to reward you with a flurry of cut flowers. Flowers May-June (Year 2). Height 63-90cm (25-36”); spacing 38cm (15"). Sow thinly using a quality, finely sieved, moist compost. Cover with polythene and put in a fridge 0-5ºC (32-40ºF) for three weeks. Remove tray and place in a greenhouse or on a windowsill at approximately 18-21ºC (65-70ºF). Do not exclude light and remove polythene when seeds germinate (germination 30-90 days). Transplant seedlings spaced out 5cm (2") apart in trays and grow on. Plant at 38cm (15") spacing in a sunny or partially shaded, well drained position. May also be sown direct outdoors from April-June.

Ideal for beds and borders, patio pots and containers, greenhouse. Suitable for cut flowers. Scented. Attractive to bees. Prefers full sun or partial shade. Let seed pods form after flowering to allow to self-seed and spread through your garden!
